Icom IC-V3500 VHF Mobile Radio Transceiver

Main Features

  • 75 W maximum output – highest legal power on 2 m for maximum simplex and repeater range
  • 4-stage power selection – 75 / 30 / 10 / 5 W to match antenna systems and battery load
  • 136–174 MHz continuous coverage – TX/RX across entire VHF band, including marine, weather, and business channels
  • 0.16 μV typical sensitivity – pulls weak signals out of the noise floor for fringe-area clarity
  • 221 memory channels – store simplex, repeater splits, and marine frequencies with 6-character alpha tags
  • Built-in CTCSS/DCS encode-decode – 50 tones + 104 digital codes for interference-free groups
  • One-touch emergency jump – instant access to 121.5 MHz aircraft guard or local disaster net
  • Large white-backlit LCD – 1.4-inch display readable in direct sunlight or with night-time dimmer
  • DTMF auto-dialer – 16 memories for autopatch, remote base, or selective calling

    Function Introduction

    Powerful Performance, Cool Cooling

The die-cast aluminum housing also functions as a heat sink, allowing the IC-V3500 to continuously transmit 75 watts of power without overheating and rollback. A silent, thermostatic fan activates only when needed, maintaining low noise levels even on long patrols or family road trips.

    Edible Operation

The oversized volume/squelch knob is ergonomically designed for easy driver operation; four programmable buttons on the panel can be individually configured for repeater switching, scan activation, or emergency jumps. A detachable handheld microphone with a 2.5-meter spiral cable allows the operator to stay away from the dashboard while maintaining control.

    Value That Travels

Every unit ships with mounting bracket, DC power cable with noise-suppressing ferrite, hand-mic, and spare fuse—everything needed to get on the air except an antenna. No internal fan filters to replace, no firmware licence fees, and a three-year ICOM factory warranty keep total cost of ownership low for volunteer groups and commercial fleets alike.
